Lea Montgomery - Owner and Executive Director

Her experiences as a single, working mother and with her daughter, Shosha, who was born with brain damage, led Lea to jump at the chance to provide in-home respite services to other families with a child who had special needs. "Respite services, as a family support service, is a cornerstone of the foundation we must lay in building a workable solution to deinstitutionalizing the lives of our children and keeping them in our communities."

As Executive Director, Lea is responsilbe for all Administrative duties of our programs. Although living in Eureka she is committed to being accessible to staff and the clients and families we serve:  (707) 268-1775.

On a personal note - The family in our logo is a drawing made for me by Shosha when she was 10 years old.  In 1989 when I was starting Families United, she graciously gave me permission to use it in the logo.
